GANDHINAGAR: The BJP released a list of 12 MLAs on Monday night, dropping four of its sitting MLAs and fielding Alpesh Thakor from the Gandhinagar South seat. Two women figure in the list of 12 candidates announced on Monday.
The BJP has dropped Shambhuji Thakor, the MLA from the Gandhinagar South seat, to accommodate Thakor who joined the party in 2019 after quitting the Congress.
The sitting MLA from Himmatnagar, Raju Chavda, has been dropped and the ticket has been given to V D Jhala.
Jitendra Sukhadiya, the MLA from Sayajigunj, has also not been repeated and the BJP has given the ticket for the seat to Keyur Rokadiya. On the Vatva seat, the BJP has nominated Babu Singh Jadhav after sitting MLA and former MOS home Pradipsinh Jadeja withdrew from the poll race earlier this month.
