BJP leader Alpesh Thakor has raised the issue of land grabbing and alleged that some prominent builders are involved in it.

The Thakor community leader, who joined BJP from the opposition Congress and later lost bye- election from Radhanpur seat that he had fought on the BJP’s symbol, told media persons that land grabbers are on the prowl and farmers are becoming their victims. Thakor alleged that a builder named Kalpesh Patel has grabbed land worth Rs 250 crore of Amrutji Thakor at Muthiya Hanspura on the outskirts of the city. Patel is a builder who developed the prominent scheme Ganesh Meridian near Sola overbridge by the SG Highway.

The BJP leader has also alleged that another builder of Galaxy Group, Uday Bhatt, was involved in usurping land worth Rs 400 crore of city-based farmers, while Bhavik Desai has siphoned off land worth Rs 150 crore of Vastral-based farmers. Galaxy group has developed several schemes in Naroda and Nava Naroda areas.
