AHMEDABAD: After he nearly quit the Congress a few weeks ago, Radhanpur MLA Alpesh Thakor has fired another salvo at the party he professes allegiance to. Two office bearers of the organization he heads, the Kshatriya Thakor Sena, have filed their nominations as independent candidates for the Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat.
They are Swarupji Thakor, the outfit’s state vice president and Mukesh Thakor, its secretary.
The move is bound to hurt the Congress on the Banaskantha seat, as Alpesh Thakor is a Congress MLA and Thakor Sena members are Congress supporters. The Thakor Sena has not fielded candidates in Sabarkantha and Patan, where Thakor voters make up a sizable chunk of the electorate as well.
