Former Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor to contest Gujarat bypoll on BJP ticket

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Gandhinagar South assembly seat in Gujarat. BJP candidate Alpesh Thakor has defeated Dr. Himanshu Patel of Congress by 43 thousand 64 votes.

According to the figures of the Election Commission, Alpesh Thakor has got a total of one lakh 34 thousand 51 votes. Whereas, Himanshu Patel of Congress has got 90 thousand 987 votes. On the third number is Aam Aadmi Party candidate Devendrabhai (Dolatbhai) Patel, who got 11 thousand 195 votes.

If we look at the vote percentage, Alpesh Thakor has got 54.59 percent votes. Whereas the Congress candidate got 37 percent and the AAP leader got 4.56 percent votes. This time a total of 11 candidates were in the fray for the Gandhinagar South seat. Bahujan Samaj Party’s Rajeshkumar Parmar also contested from this seat, who got 1,693 votes.
